Founded in 1974, China Cereals & Oils Co. has become the largest rice importer in Western Canada. For 50 years, we have adhered to a low-margin, high-volume business model, enabling us to offer exceptional value to our customers. At its inception, China Cereals sold only rice and oil in its original store. Our competitive pricing quickly garnered strong support from the local community and restaurants. In 1985, we relocated to our current Chinatown location, which features a storefront twice the size of the original and a warehouse in the back to better serve our customers.

Beginning in 1997, we expanded our product line to include dry goods, continually adapting to changing consumer habits and trends. In 2005, we launched the first warehouse-style Asian supermarket in Richmond—Rice World Supermarket. This new location offers not only rice, oil, and dry goods but also fresh meat, produce, seafood, and a prepared foods department, meeting the growing demands of our customers.
